WHERE ARE WE LOCATED? view map

The Contra Costa Community College District is located in Contra Costa County, about 45 minutes east of the San Francisco Bay Area. Both Contra Costa County and the San Francisco area are centers of Northern California cultural and economic life and offer many opportunities for both personal and professional growth. The Contra Costa Commuity College District's three principal colleges are located in various parts of Contra Costa County -- Contra Costa College in San Pablo, Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, and Los Medanos College in Pittsburg. The San Ramon Valley Campus, an outreach arm of Diablo Valley College, is located in San Ramon, in the southern portion of the county, while the Brentwood Center, an outreach arm of Los Medanos College, is located in Brentwood, in the eastern portion of the county.

TRANSFER TO THE UNIVERSITY

Students interested in obtaining a bachelor's degree from the University of California or California State University will benefit from the "2+2=4" transfer program. Students will be able to take the first two years of their bachelor degree program at our community colleges and then transfer to the 4-year university of their choice for the final two years. Many community college international students benefit from taking the same courses as found in the universities with the advantage of smaller classes, more academic assistance, English language skill support and much lower tuition during their first two years of study.

CERTIFICATE COURSES

In addition, the Contra Costa Community College District offers a wide-range of certificate courses in a diverse range of subjects, including business, computer science/technology, hotel/restaurant management, travel marketing, music/recording arts and more (see the college website of your choice for a complete list of majors and certificate courses).

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES/TOEFL

For those students who still require the English language skills necessary for college success, each of our colleges offer comprehensive ESL programs and courses. Check the English language/TOEFL requirements and admissions policies for the program which best fits your English language background and current needs.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OFFICE

Finally, each of our colleges offers a wide-range of international student services through its own International Student Office, which will assist in international admissions, immigration processes, health, housing and academic support. All of these features of the International Student program make the Contra Costa Community College District the best educational value for international students from all over the world.
